How To Get to The Tulip Fields in NC

Like most places in NC, the best way to get around is by car. These tulip fields are no different. Public transportation will make it almost impossible to get to any of the farms, so if you don’t have a car, you can use Uber or Lyft.

When to Visit the Tulip Fields in NC

Tulips are spring flowers that start popping up around the end of March. This year, Dewberry farm expects about 30,000 tulips to be in bloom for their opening day, around March 26th.

This changes every year depending on the weather. I can tell you that I already see my tulip leaves popping through this year, and it’s only February.

Visiting Dewberry Farms

This is Dewberry Farms’ 6th annual tulip festival. They have graciously planted 100,000 tulips for us to enjoy!

Spread across their 20 acres, you can explore these NC tulip fields, tons of other flowers, and their cute farm animals, including horses, donkeys, sheep, and even chicks.

They have also set up tons of instagram-worthy photo areas for you to enjoy including 3 tree swings.

What is really cool about their tulip fields is that you can choose to pick your own tulips, or even dig up the bulb to bring home and plant in your own garden. They do ask for you to bring your own scissors/clippers and a little handheld shovel.

Additionally, they are selling buckets and baskets for you to put your tulips in, or you can bring your own.

The tulip bulbs are $1.75 each and for just the tulips are $1.25 each.

They also welcome you to bring a blanket and set up a picnic to fully enjoy their whole farm.

It is also worth noting that it can be pretty muddy. My shoes used to be white and are now brown, so definitely don’t wear your favorite shoes.
