Heroic Past Life Feats (2024)

Overview[edit]

Dungeons and Dragons Online supports the ability to take a character and reincarnate. There are four types of reincarnation:

1. Heroic Reincarnation - With this type you take a character that is at least level 20 back to level 1, allowing you to respec it into the same or different type of character, and gaining feats based on the dominate class.
2. Racial Reincarnation - Similar to Heroic Reincarnation, you take a character that is at least level 20 back to level 1, allowing you to respec it into the same or different type of character, and gaining feats, based on the race.
3. Iconic Reincarnation - With this type you take a character that is an iconic race, once you have reached level 30, back to level 1, allowing you to respec it into the same or different type of character.
4. Epic Reincarnation - With this type you take any character, once you have reached level 30, back to level 20, allowing you to change it, as if you did a Lesser Reincarnation, but gain a Epic Past Life feat, based on the iconic race.
5. Lesser Reincarnation - With this type you can take your character back to level 1, at any time, with enough XP to get back to where you were. You can then change everything except alignment, race, and gender. Some limitations in the class selection are enforced.

During the Heroic Reincarnation process, gives your character access to two new feats. One of these feats is passive, and you get for free, meaning it is automatically granted at level 1, and there is no action you have to take to use it. The other is a feat you have to purchase with using a standard feat slot.

Subsequent reincarnations allow you to keep your previous past life feats, and will add more. Each class can have each of these feats stacked up to 3 times, accumulating the benefit. So, if you had 3 Artificer past lives, you would take the benefit and multiply it by 3. Beyond the third time there is no accumulated benefit.

Once you have a single past life in each of the classes that exist at the time, you will automatically be granted the feat Completionist.

Dominant Class[edit]

When a character does a reincarnation, the class that is used to determine which heroic past life feat that character will received is determined through the following steps:

1. If there is a tie for the most levels (Rogue 10/Ranger 10), the determination is made using the following list, the class that is higher on the list is used
2. If there is one class that has the most levels - use that class (Rogue 2/Fighter 18 uses Fighter)

Free Feats[edit]

Below is a list of all the free feats you can receive, and their benefits. Each of these feats can be stacked up to 3 times.

	Past Life: Barbarian	You were a Barbarian in a past life. You occasionally find yourself filled with a nearly irresistible urge to smash boxes. With your head. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: 10 additional hit points.
	Past Life: Bard	You were a Bard in a past life. You occasionally find yourself humming a merry tune. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +2 to saves vs enchantments and illusions +1 bard song usage
	Past Life: Stormsinger	You were a Bard Stormsinger in a past life. You occasionally find yourself humming a merry tune. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +5 Lightning and Sonic SPell Power per stack
	Past Life: Cleric	You were a Cleric in a past life. You occasionally feel the presence of the divine. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +1 to the DC's of your Conjuration spells +1 Turn Undead attempt per rest You Turn Undead as if you were 2 levels higher
	Past Life: Dark Apostate	You were a Dark Apostate in a past life. You occasionally feel the presence of the divine. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +5 Negative Healing Amplification +5 Negative Spell Power
	Past Life: Druid	You were a Druid in a past life. You occasionally find yourself gazing at the stars and get sentimental around mistletoe. Each time you acquire this feat: Your summoned creatures, charmed minions, and hirelings gain +2 to all ability scores.
	Past Life: Blight Caster	You were a Blight Caster in a past life. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +5 Acid Spell Power +5 Poison Spell Power
	Past Life: Favored Soul	You were a Favored Soul in a past life. You occasionally find yourself wishing to leap off of tall things. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +1 to spell penetration checks +20 additional spell points
	Past Life: Fighter	You were a Fighter in a past life. You occasionally find yourself filled with the urge to bark orders to your fellows in combat. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +1 to attack rolls +1 to the DC's of your tactical feats
	Past Life: Dragon Lord	You were a Dragon Lord in a past life. Others find you strangely compelling when you speak or take to the battlefield. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +1 Damage with Melee Weapons +1 Breath Weapon DC
	Past Life: Monk	You were a Monk in a past life. You occasionally find yourself contemplating the mysteries of life. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +1 to damage rolls
	Past Life: Paladin	You were a Paladin in a past life. You occasionally find yourself overcome with righteous fervor. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: 10% Positive Healing Amplification
	Past Life: Sacred Fist	You were a Sacred Fist in a past life. You occasionally find yourself contemplating the flickering flame in campfires. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +5% Positive Healing Amplification +5 Positive Spell Power
	Past Life: Ranger	You were a Ranger in a past life. You occasionally find small animals in your backpack. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +2 damage with ranged weapons +2 to elemental resistances
	Past Life: Dark Hunter	You were a Dark Hunter in a past life. You find yourself slightly annoyed with the sunlight. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +1 to hit with Sneak Attacks +1 Sneak Attack Damage
	Past Life: Rogue	You were a Rogue in a past life. You occasionally find yourself looking over your shoulder. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +2 to saves vs. traps +1 damage when sneak attacking
	Past Life: Sorcerer	You were a Sorcerer in a past life. You occasionally find yourself daydreaming of dragons. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +1 to the DC's of your Evocation spells +20 additional spell points
	Past Life: Wild Mage	You were a wild mage in a past life. Strong magic surrounds you. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +3 Universal Spell Power
	Past Life: Warlock	You were a Warlock in a past life. You occasionally find yourself throwing your hands into the air. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +3 Magical Resistance
	Past Life: Acolyte of the Skin	You were a Druid in a past life. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +5 Fire Spell Power +1 MRR.
	Past Life: Wizard	You were a Wizard in a past life. You occasionally find yourself desiring a good book. Each time you acquire this feat you gain: +2 to spell penetration checks +2 to the DC's of Wands you use
	Completionist	You win DDO! You've leveled to 20 in every class. When more classes are added, this feat will deactivate and you will need to gain those past lives before this benefit reactivates. For your effort can take this feat to get +2 bonus to all skills and ability scores.

Purchasable Feats[edit]

Below is a list of all the feats you can purchase during the leveling of your character. These feats take up a normal feat slot.

Note: The earliest you can take these feats is level 3

	Past Life: Student of Artifice	You recall more about your past life as an artificer. By taking this feat you gain: A 15% chance to retain essence and not expend a charge when using a rod, staff or wand Produce an Enchant Armor or Enchant Weapons effect a total of ten times per rest.
	Past Life: Berserker's Fury	You recall more about your past life as a barbarian. By taking this feat you gain: +20 hit points +2 to your Intimidate skill Can enter a barbarian rage one additional time per rest Enter a basic rage once per rest even if you do not have any other rage abilities. Grants access to Racial and Class Toughness enhancements.
	Past Life: Bardic Dilettante	You recall more about your past life as a bard. By taking this feat you gain: +1 to all Charisma based skills +1 to the DC's of your Enchantment spells Can Inspire Courage three times per rest.
	Past Life: Bardic Dilettante	You recall more about your past life as a bard. By taking this feat you gain: +1 to all Charisma based skills +1 to the DC's of your Enchantment spells Can Inspire Courage three times per rest.
	Past Life: Initiate of the Faith	You recall more about your past life as a cleric. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to your Heal skill Can produce Healing Word effect five times per rest (Send 1d4 + 1d4 per 2 caster levels positive energy to your target to heal or damage if undead.)
	Past Life: Initiate of the Faith	You recall more about your past life as a dark apostate. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to your Heal skill Can produce Healing Word effect five times per rest (Send 1d4 + 1d4 per 2 caster levels positive energy to your target to heal or damage if undead.)
	Past Life: Harbinger of Nature's Wrath	You recall more about your past life as a druid. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to all elemental resistances Can cast Flame Blade three times per rest, uses character level instead of caster level.
	Past Life: Acolyte of Divine Secrets	You recall more about your past life as a favored soul. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to the Diplomacy skill Can cast Avenging Light three times per rest, using 1d8 instead of 1d4
	Past Life: Student of the Sword	You recall more about your past life as a fighter. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to the Intimidate skill +1 Maximum Dexterity Bonus of Armor Can increase your Base Attack Bonus and add +4 to hit 3 times per rest for 1 minute.
	Past Life: Student of the Sword	You recall more about your past life as a dragon lord. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to the Intimidate skill +1 Maximum Dexterity Bonus of Armor Can increase your Base Attack Bonus and add +4 to hit 3 times per rest for 1 minute.
	Past Life: Disciple of the Fist	You recall more about your past life as a monk. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to the Concentration skill Increased Unarmed Damage (1 step higher) Enter an evasive trance giving the Evasion feat for 20 seconds, once per rest
	Past Life: Soldier of the Faith	You recall more about your past life as a paladin. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to the Heal skill Can cast Divine Favor 3 times per rest, lasts for 2 minutes
	Past Life: Soldier of the Faith	You recall more about your past life as a sacred fist. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to the Heal skill Can cast Divine Favor 3 times per rest, lasts for 2 minutes
	Past Life: Warrior of the Wild	You recall more about your past life as a ranger. By taking this feat you gain: +2 to the Spot skill Can cast Barkskin 3 times per rest
	Past Life: Sneak of Shadows	You recall more about your past life as a rogue. By taking this feat you gain: +1 to all skills +1 bonus to sneak attack damage for every 2 character levels +1 bonus to hit with sneak attacks for every 2 levels Can increase your hide and move silently skill based on your level for 1 minute, 3 times per rest
	Past Life: Arcane Prodigy	You recall more about your past life as a sorcerer. By taking this feat you gain: +10 spell point first level, and +5 for subsequent levels Can produce a random elemental damage 10 times per rest 1d12 elemental damage plus 1d12 per three caster levels Reflex save reduces damage by half.
	Past Life: Delver of the Forbidden	You recall more about your past life as a warlock. By taking this feat you gain: +3 to the Spellcraft skill Can Confuse, as per the Create Thrall spell, 10 times per rest
	Past Life: Arcane Initiate	You recall more about your past life as a wizard. By taking this feat you gain: +1 to the DC's of all spells Can cast Magic Missile 10 times per rest 1d4+1 damage per missile
