What is the grading scale for Clarkston Community Schools? ›

CHS operates on a weighted 4.0 grading scale. The grade point average (GPA) on a report card and transcript includes all courses taken. If students have enrolled in Advanced Placement courses, equivalent International Baccalaureate courses, or 5th year World Language courses, weighted grade points will be assigned.

Policy: CHS students are allotted a maximum of 12 absences per semester.

Students are expected to dress appropriately for school. All students must refrain from wearing excessively baggy or sagging cloth- ing, pants must be pulled up on the waist, and shirts must be tucked in.

Clarkston Community Schools is a highly regarded school district with an enrollment of approximately 6,500 students. We have seven elementary schools (K-5), one middle school serving grades 6-7, one junior high for grades 8-9, and Clarkston High School, which serves students in grades 10-12.

The normal grading range is from 55 to 100. The number grades correspond to letter grades as reflected in the chart below. The minimum passing grade is 70 (C). Any grades between 55 and 69 (D and F) are considered failing grades for which unit credit is not earned.

You'll usually need to receive a letter grade between A and D to pass a class, often the numerical equivalent of 65 percent or higher. Receiving an F—which stands for “fail”—indicates that you did not pass the class.
